Tufa: A Place to Stay
Tufa laughs when she describes how much her son likes Skyline's Advantage Center. “All the time he wants to come here,” she says. She feels the same way about her home.
Building a New Life
A year ago, Lonja couldn’t see anything but uncertainty ahead. She had been laid off from her job as a dental assistant in Minneapolis, and the apartment complex where she lived with her two sons, Devonje and Zackary, was feeling increasingly unsafe.
Providing the Base
The lowest point, Robert remembers, was Christmas. “All the homeless shelters were full, so we spent that first Christmas in a shed,” he recalls. “Just my wife and I, smoking crack to the light of a St. Jude candle, the patron saint of lost causes.”
Commerce Residents Love Their New Home
On June 1st, The Commerce Building opened its doors in downtown St. Paul. New residents Aryn and Tyler couldn’t be happier. “We kept calling to see how soon we could move in.”
A Home Allows Amrula to Start Giving Back
The rich colors of the artwork shine vividly in the lights of Skyline’s community room. As Amrula points to his work, the angular lines of Skyline Towers begin to emerge from the lushly patterned picture. “It’s a small city, dealing with people from different countries, different cultures, different races,” Amrula says of the home that inspired him.
