The Multicultural Communities in Action AmeriCorps Program is looking for new members!

MCA AmeriCorps Service positions offer individuals the opportunity to respond to needs in their community while learning new skills and earning money for education. MCA members provide educational and recreational programming to pre-k through high school aged youth at schools or after-school programs.

In exchange for one year of service, members receive valuable trainings, a living allowance, and upon successful completion of service, an education award which can be used for existing or future tuition expenses. Full time positions are located in Mpls. and St. Paul beginning in September 2009 and ending in August 2010.

Minimum Requirements

Members must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age at the beginning of service
  • Have a high school diploma or its equivalent; or be willing to obtain a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to using the education award
  • Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States
  • Pass a criminal background check.

Service placements sites are at CommonBond Communities Advantage Centers, Neighborhood House, and Jane Addams School for Democracy, Museum Magnate, Four Seasons, and Riverview elementary schools, Humboldt High School, and Guadalupe Alternative Program (GAP).
